What is Washi Tape?
Washi is traditional Japanese paper made of plants fibre such as the gampi tree, the mitsumata shrub (Edgeworthia chrysantha), or the paper mulberry bush. It's slightly transparent, especially in light colours. So it has been used for room dividers or slide doors to get natural light into the room in traditional Japanese architecture. The transparency works well for layering effects, then it's also used for paper cutting arts.
The sticky washi called Washi Tape has become increasingly popular in recent years and many stationery or paper makers produce them with various designs.
Washi Tape can be torn by hand easily and also reused because it's removable. Perfect for papercraft, gift wrapping, Journals, scrapbooking, card making, planners, and wedding/birthday decor.
