Katamikawari"(Diagonal Bicolour) refers to a composition in which one piece is divided into two halves by a diagonal line or a center line, and the colors and patterns are separated on the left and right sides. The contrast of red and white, symbols of the color of congratulations, is beautifully contrasted, and the design is reminiscent of mizuhiki.
Each design has an elaborate gold or silver pearl pattern. You cannot see them from a distance, but you can feel their beauty and luster only when you hold them in your hands.
The colours red and white symbolise an auspicious event in Kyoto, and so this furoshiki wrap is especially suitable for a special present - perhaps an important birthday, a wedding, or for Christmas.

The name of its Furoshiki brand “MUSUBI” comes from “born(生す/musu)” and “beauty(美/bi)” in Japanese. Additionally, “MUSUBI” means “a knot” and “to tie” MUSUBI produce and sell hundreds of different Furoshiki using various dying and weaving techniques such as double-sided dying.
