Gobo (Burdock Root) - roots are often used to remove toxins from the bloodstream. Contains multiple antioxidants that can help with inflammation. A Diuretic to help eliminate excess water, and used as a topical remedy for skin problems such as eczema, acne, and psoriasis.
Shungiku (Chrysanthemum) - the leaves are edible to be used fresh in salads or garnish, Shungiku leaves contain morebeta-carotene than spinach! The flowers are typically used dried as a tea, which has been used to reduce inflammation and high blood pressure.
Kikyo (Balloon Flower) - is one of the seven herbs used to flavor Japanese sake. Roots are used medicinally for treating coughs, lowering blood sugar & cholesterol. Also used to treat hypertension and diabetes.
Aka Shiso (Red Perilla) - fresh leaves boiled to make tea, juice, or tonic. Used for anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiviral, and antibacterial purpose. Good for respiratory tract and those with asthma, improves immune function, excellent for stomach aches and digestive upset. Often used in Japan to treat food poisoning due to high levels of rosmarinic acid which stops bacteria growth.
Yomogi (Mugwort) - used in traditional Asian medicine for the treatment of inflammation, diarrhea, carbuncles, bacterial infection, and circulatory disorders
