Shirasagi Woodwork (Shirasagi Mokko)

Yamanaka Onsen in Ishikawa Prefecture is famous for its hot springs. Shirasagi Woodworks is located much deeper up the mountain from the hot spring resort.

For three generations, Shirasagi Woodworks has been making traditional Yamanaka lacquerware and other wooden vessels such as bowls, trays and round tables.

Shirasagi Woodwork is committed to using only domestic wood and is fully responsible for the entire process, from harvesting the raw wood in Japan to the finish grindings.

Although there are many craftsmen, which has a high level of technology, it is rare to find a such craftsman who is involved in the whole process from the raw wood to make these wood table ware in Japan now.
