What are Nishijin Textiles?
Textiles produced in the Nishijin area of Kyoto are known as "Nishijin textiles". Nishijin textiles are typically made of brightly dyed silk with intricate and skillfully woven patterns using an abundance of gold and silver threads. In addition to Kimono and kimono sash, Nishijin textiles are also used as decorations for floats and costumes for the Noh stage.
