Enamel Slim Kettle 0.7L / NODA HORO
Born in 1980, the "Tsuki-Usagi Trademark Slim Pot" is an enameled kettle pot with a beautiful sleek finish.
The slim, streamlined spout is ideal for pour over brewing coffee and is very popular among coffee lovers in Japan.
The simple yet cute shape was designed by awards winning Japanese product designer, Komin Yamada and manufactured by Noda Enamel.
It still works on an electric cooktop but much better on an open flame. It is a perfect handy size to bring camping. Coffee made with boiling water in this slim kettle over the campfire will have an exceptional taste.
Made by Noda Horo
Noda Enamel, founded in 1934, is a factory that has been dedicated to making enamelware products since its beginning. The factory originally manufactured washbasins for use in hospitals and scientific supplies for use in laboratories. But they began to produce kitchenwares as well since enamel is hygienic and durable. After the products were released, many professional chefs found their high quality and have preferred to use them for decades.
How Enamelware is produced
Enamelware is made by molding steel plate, applying a glassy glaze, and baking it at a high temperature of 850 degrees Celsius.
It has the qualities of both iron, which is strong but easily rusted, and glass, which is beautiful but easily broken.
It takes a lot of time and effort to make enamel. It requires skilled craftsmen and high technology.
Unfortunately, the number of skilled craftsmen has been declining and there are few factories that can manufacture enamel products.
In particular, the shape of this "Slim Pot" requires many delicate work processes, including the shape of the spout.
It can only be made by skilled craftsmen with excellent techniques.
As each product is made by hand, it cannot be mass-produced.
