Vintage Japanese Porcelain Mini Tokkuri

This small vintage Japanese porcelain bottle is most likely a tsurukubi tokkuri, a sake flask with a long, narrow neck. Based on its form and decoration, it is believed to date from the first half of the 20th century, possibly around the Taisho to early Showa period. \

The cobalt-blue decoration was applied beneath a clear glaze in the traditional sometsuke style. One side features a pine tree, while the other is decorated with plum blossoms. Both are traditional Japanese motifs associated with resilience, longevity, and renewal. Geometric patterns around the neck and base complete the design.

Originally made for serving sake, its compact size and narrow opening also make it ideal as a small vase for a single flower or a few short stems.
