About the Sori Yanagi Design Series

The Sori Yanagi Design Series was launched in 1974 by Sato Shoji, a long-established household goods manufacturer, after commissioning designs from Sori Yanagi. This kitchenware brand is renowned for its refined and beautifully minimalist designs, achieved through a relentless pursuit of usability and the elimination of unnecessary elements. Sori Yanagi

Sori Yanagi (1915-2011) is one of Japan's leading industrial designers who played a role in Japanese modern design developed after World War II to the high-growth period in the Japanese economy.
Consistently taking the user's point of view and thinking through the design process by making models by hand, he designed many products that enrich daily life and can be used for a long time.
His works are not limited to kitchenware and furniture, but also include toys, objets d'art, Olympic torch stands, tunnel openings, pedestrian bridges, etc. His designs with functional beauty have won him worldwide recognition.
