About Edo Wind Chimes

Edo wind chimes are made using its unique blowing technique, where they are shaped without a mold. A small hot glass bead is blown into the shape of the wind chime, and from there, painting to finish, everything is handcrafted by artisans. The painting is done entirely from the inside to prevent it from peeling easily. Just drawing a single line requires unimaginable effort. Each Edo wind chime has its own unique tone, and when lined up together, they produce an even cooler sound, offering a moment to feel the elegance of summer.

Design Unit katakata

katakata (カタカタ), a dyeing unit by a Japanese couple, dyes fabric using traditional dyeing techniques such as stencil dyeing and pour dyeing, producing original hand towels and wrapping cloths. Drawing inspiration from familiar creatures and landscapes, they produce uniquely warm dyed cloths. They provided their unique and warm designs for the painting of Edo wind chimes, a traditional craft of Tokyo. We also carry Furoshiki collection with katakata's design in our shop.
