This goshuincho by Furukawa Shiko features a little Shiba Inu sitting above an ume musubi knot. Ume musubi is a traditional decorative knot shaped like a plum blossom and is associated with good fortune and enduring connections. The bright red cover and friendly illustration give this celebratory motif a playful, modern feel.
Made with Mino washi, it is a lovely companion for collecting stamps, recording a trip, or keeping small memories from everyday life.
About Goshuincho
A goshuincho is a traditional Japanese book for collecting goshuin, the handwritten calligraphy and red seals received at Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines. Its accordion-style pages are the most familiar format for goshuincho, opening flat so you can look back through your collection with ease.
While traditionally used for temple and shrine stamps, blank accordion books are also popular today as small scrapbooks, travel journals, photo albums, and hobby record books.
