Small plates called "Mamezara" have been used to serve food on festive and special occasions in Japan. This beautiful wooden Mamezara is produced by 190 years old company and handmade by artisans in Japan.

It can be used for various purposes, such as serving small sweets, placing your jewelry or as a coaster.

Produced by 190 years old company, Kakuda Seibei Shoten

In 1830, at the end of the Edo period (1603-1868), the Kakuda Seibei Shoten was established as a specialty store of Kishu lacquerware. The name of the company, Kakuda Seibei, goes back even further, to a merchant who sold lacquer ware from Kishu to Edo (now Tokyo) in the Kan'ei era (1620).
Now, they produce mainly handcrafted wooden products for daily use with professional artisans.
